While technology continues to improve, there are still many things that human beings can do much more effectively than computers, such as identifying objects in a photo, performing data de-duplication, transcribing audio recordings or performing research. The Mechanical Turk platform enables companies to programmatically access a diverse, on-demand workforce to accomplish these tasks (and more) quickly, accurately, and at a low cost.
