Amazon S3 is storage for the Internet, offering a simple web services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers, providing access to the same highly scalable, reliable, fast, inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites.
A burgeoning and innovative Amazon S3 developer community is already building both end-user applications that consume Amazon S3, as well as tools and libraries that help other developers build on this web service. Learn more about the following new Amazon S3-based solutions.
Amazon S3 End-user Applications
ElephantDrive (beta) – unlimited storage for photographs, documents, music, videos, and more.
Jungle Disk (beta) – a cross-platform application allowing users to securely store and backup files.
Altexa Backup – a data backup solution for Windows-based systems. Automatically runs backup jobs for pre-specified data in the background.
Amazon S3 Tools and Libraries
BitBucket – a Python library defining two main classes, allowing developers to manipulate and associate metadata with data in Amazon S3.
jSh3ll and #Sh3ll – Java and C#-based command shells for easily interacting with Amazon S3.
