We are excited to announce VPC Peering within a region. You can now create a one-to-one networking connection between two VPCs in the same region and route traffic between them using private IP addresses. Instances in either VPC can communicate with each other as if they were within the same VPC. You can establish multiple VPC peering connections for each VPC that you own and you can create a VPC peering connection between VPCs in your own account, or with a VPC in another AWS account in the same region. VPC Peering is available in the new VPC Management Console.
We are also excited to announce design improvements to the Amazon VPC Management Console. These changes make it easier to add tags to VPC resources and view those tags across resources on other VPC pages. To access the new VPC console, including the new VPC Peering feature, just visit the VPC Management Console and click the link to try the new console design. Don't forget to let us know what you think via the console feedback button!
