Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 on the AWS Cloud: Quick Start Reference Deployment

Posted on: Jan 20, 2015

This new Quick Start reference deployment covers the implementation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 in a highly available architecture on the AWS cloud, using AWS services such as Amazon EC2 and Amazon VPC. The automated AWS CloudFormation templates included in the Quick Start build the minimal infrastructure required to run Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 on AWS with high availability for a small deployment supporting 250 mailboxes, following AWS best practices. We also provide guidance for additional deployment scenarios aligned with the Microsoft preferred architecture for Exchange Server, supporting 250, 2,500, and 10,000 mailboxes. The deployment guide discusses how the Microsoft Exchange Server environment is built so that you can deploy the automated solution or customize the provided AWS CloudFormation template to meet your own requirements.

This Quick Start is the latest in a series of reference deployments that describe in words and diagrams the architectures for implementing popular enterprise solutions on AWS. They also include the AWS CloudFormation templates that automate the deployments.
