Amazon Kinesis Consumer Position Metric
Amazon Kinesis is a fully managed service for real-time processing of streaming data at massive scale. Amazon Kinesis can continuously capture and store terabytes of data per hour from hundreds of thousands of sources.
Amazon Kinesis team has announced the ability for customers to track how close to real time the data their consumer applications are processing. Consumer applications now receive a new attribute called “MillisBehindLatest” with every GetRecords response that indicates how far they are from real time. Customers leveraging the Kinesis Client Library (KCL) can track the progress of their applications by monitoring this new metric at Amazon CloudWatch.
