Announcing 5 New AWS Direct Connect Locations
We are thrilled to announce 5 new AWS Direct Connect locations. The new locations are at Equinix Slough (supporting our Dublin region), Equinix Dallas (supporting our Northern VA region), GPX in Mumbai (supporting our Singapore region), Tivit in Sao Paolo (supporting our Sao Paolo region), and a dedicated location for our AWS GovCloud (US) region at Equinix San Jose. This brings our total location count up to 23.
Now every AWS region has two DX locations supporting it. Customers that want to build resiliency into their networking can do that buy connecting to multiple locations supporting a region.
You can use AWS Direct Connect to create a dedicated network connection from your datacenter, office, or colocation environment to AWS. Connections are always made to a particular Direct Connect location, and can run at either 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps, or work with a partner to connect at speeds less than 1G.
