With the advent of on-demand digital media, media and entertainment companies are evolving their businesses to keep pace with rapidly changing consumer demands. Amazon Web Services' flexible and dependable suite of cloud services and Aspera On-Demand can help provide your business the agility it needs to meet this challenge. At this event, Aspera will unveil its next generation of fasp enabled cloud products, enabling WAN access to Amazon S3. Media companies will be able use Aspera's intuitive clients to upload 1 TB of data to Amazon S3's low-cost, scalable, and durable (99.999999999%) storage in several hours.
Amazon S3 can now handle objects as large as 5 TB, and once your files are in the cloud, you can easily utilize Amazon EC2 to encode your files and Amazon CloudFront to deliver them. With Amazon EC2, transcoding files is fast and cost-effective. For example, Netflix needed to transcode 17,000 titles (80TB of data) to support the launch of Sony PS3. They provisioned 1200 Amazon EC2 instances and completed the transcoding process in just days.
Our afternoon event is designed to provide the information that media companies need to solve their current content lifecycle problems. The event will feature presentations by Michelle Munson, President, CEO and Co-founder of Aspera and Jeff Barr, Sr. Amazon Web Services Evangelist.
