Get Ready to Register for AWS re:Invent

Voiced by Polly

Update (September 2021) – Changed the URL for the Venetian Hotel.

Earlier this year I asked you to start thinking about attending and perhaps even speaking at AWS re:Invent, our first global customer and partner conference. The conference will be held from November 27-29 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

We’ve arranged for three very full days of activity:

Tuesday, November 27 Wednesday, November 28 Thursday, November 29
  • AWS Partner Network Summit
  • Technical Bootcamps
  • Welcome Reception
  • Keynote Addresses
  • Breakout Sessions
  • AWS Block Party
  • Keynote Addresses
  • Breakout Sessions

The hallways here at AWS headquarters have been a buzz of activity of late (even more than normal). My colleagues have been working to create an event that will be memorable and worthwhile, whether you are an architect, a developer, part of an enterprise IT department, or part of a startup. I am sure that this will be an event to remember (you missed Woodstock, don’t miss this).

You will learn everything that you need to know to put the AWS Cloud to use in your organization. With over 150 sessions on our agenda, you will be able to learn about AWS best practices, cloud computing use cases, enterprise IT, architecture, developer tools, AWS resource management, security, new AWS services, and more. You will also be able to meet AWS engineers, architects, product managers — the people who make the services you love!

Here are a few important things you should know about re:Invent and the registration process:

If you are an active AWS customer (with AWS usage in May through July), you will be able to register on July 20th using a special URL and unique access code that we’ll email to you on the 20th. If you can’t come to re:Invent, please feel free to pass it along to one of your colleagues.

If you are not an active AWS customer, you’ll be able to register on July 25th at the re:Invent site.

Conference registration will cost $1099 per person. This will allow you to attend the keynote and all of the general sessions, the Expo Hall, the Developer Lounge, the Welcome Reception, and the Block Party. It also includes food and beverages each day. There’s an additional fee of $500 for the Technical Bootcamps.

I am looking forward to attending and to meeting as many of you as possible. I will also be taping a bunch of episodes of The AWS Report.

We have been running some polls on the re:Invent Facebook page. We’ll be posting a lot more polls and other information there as the date draws nearer.

See you in Vegas!
