Intellog provides industry-specific search applications, and Onramp is our solution for the energy business. We are similar to other search engines in that the primary interface is based on keywords. However, we differentiate ourselves in three important ways; 1) We take an active role in managing and integrating content, 2) we index documents down to the individual page, and 3) in the near future, we will provide additional search capabilities which reflect the individual needs of the industries we serve. These three key differences make your search for information easier, more accurate and more efficient which saves time and effort.

Onramp is Intellog's next generation search engine -- like Google� and Yahoo�, Onramp makes finding information easy; enter a few search terms to identify the target of your search and the information meeting your criteria is displayed. But Onramp improves on the state-of-the-art in some important ways;

  1. Active Content Management Most search engines rely on autonomous software robots to crawl web pages to build their indexes. Because Intellog focuses on specific target markets, we take the time to edit, organize and integrate the documents which are indexed so as to best serve the needs of the user community. It results in a search experience with is much more effective than those delivered by other search engines.
  2. Page-Level Indexing using PageIndex� Other search engines deliver entire -- and often lengthy -- documents which meet your search criteria, which take time and effort to review. Intellog goes one important step further. Using our proprietary PageIndex� process, documents are broken down into individual pages, and each is indexed separately, while maintaining its context within the original document. Search results take you to the specific pages within a document which meet your search criteria, enabling you to focus on just the material of direct interest to you.
  3. Industry-Specific Search Tools In the near future, Intellog will introduce search enhancement specific to the industries we serve. For the energy industry, for example, this enables search results to also be optionally constrained by geographic and geological parameters.

We can seamlessly integrate our search logic into third party websites. Customers identify the documents they want to index, and the internal or external communities to whom they want to provide access. For this, there is a one-time microcharge for initially indexing each document, and then a per-document-per-month index maintenance microcharge. There is no minimum, and the service can be cancelled at any time.

Onramp is entirely web-based -- there is nothing to configure or install. All you need is a decent connection to the Internet, a current version of any web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera) with JavaScript-enabled and Adobe� Reader�.
