Wowza Media Server Pro is an interactive RTMP server for streaming video, audio and data content to and from the Adobe Flash Player client, executing remote procedure calls and supporting remote shared objects. It is an alternative to the Adobe Flash Media Server product (FMIS and FMSS). Wowza Media Server Pro is a powerful and extensible Java based server.

Wowza Pro for Amazon EC2 is especially adept at live streaming. Wowza Pro can sustain continuous live streams for weeks and weeks on end. This is simply not possible with other Flash streaming solutions.

Wowza Pro for Amazon EC2 communicates with the Flash player client over the RTMP protocol. It enables a wide range of multimedia and interactive Flash applications. The Wowza Pro server supports flash video streaming, audio streaming (MP3 files), video chat and video recording and supports the server side component of remote shared objects. Wowza Media Server Pro also enables you to implement custom application interfaces (custom modules) that are callable directly from the Flash player.

Wowza Pro for Amazon EC2 has several packages to simply deploy on EC2. Packages include:

> Default package with many examples > Live Video package > Live repeater origin package > Live repeater edge startup package > Video-on-demand startup package

Comprehensive documentation is also included.
