S3cmd is a command line tool for uploading, retrieving and managing data in Amazon S3. It is best suited for power users who don't fear command line. It is also ideal for scripts, automated periodic backups triggered from cron, etc.

Features include efficient rsync-like backup, strong encryption of uploaded data, simple, clean and easy to use interface, etc.

Packages are available for most major Linux distributions and s3cmd is also known to work on many other operating systems with Python 2.4 or newer installed. That includes for instance Solaris, Mac OS-X and others.
