Quick Start

  1. Extract the amazon-queue-2009-02-01-javascript-scratchpad.zip file into a working directory.
  2. Browse to amazon-queue-2009-02-01-javascript-scratchpad/webapp directory and open index.html file in your browser.
  3. Use the "Explore API" drop-down to navigate and try various Amazon SQS APIs.

Very nice!
I signed up for Amazon SQS, downloaded JS Scratchpad for SQS, and was able to create my first queue, create messages and inspect the basic concepts within minutes - and without any installation, just with the opened local web pages! Besides the fact that the pages look well and are very intuitive to operate, the included JavaScript gives you valuable hints on how the whole stuff works, e.g. with the need to create a signature for each request. Conclusion: If you're interested in SQS and want to peak into it, Javascript Scratchpad for Amazon SQS is highly recommended. It may even become the base for your own web based SQS maintenance interface!
