Amazon Route 53 Introduces AWS CloudTrail Integration, Tagging, Health Check Status Column, and One-Click Alarms
Today we are introducing several new Amazon Route 53 features: integration with AWS CloudTrail, tagging for hosted zones and domains, health check status column, and one-click health check alarms.
You can now use AWS CloudTrail to record and log Route 53 API calls. Using CloudTrail, customers can get a history of their Route 53 API calls made via the AWS Management Console, AWS SDKs, command line tools, and higher-level AWS services (such as AWS CloudFormation). The AWS API call history produced by CloudTrail enables security analysis, resource change tracking, and compliance auditing. It is now easier to organize Route 53 resources and track AWS expenses with the addition of tagging for hosted zones and domains. Customers can use the Route 53 API to add and delete tags, or use the AWS Management Console as a visual interface to add and delete their Route 53 tags along with their tags for other AWS resources.
The Health Check Status Column allows customers to quickly get a view of the status of their Route 53 Health checks at a glance via the AWS Management Console. Customers can also take advantage of one-click alarms to quickly create Amazon CloudWatch alarms based on the health status of Route 53 health checks.
