This release introduces the ability to search within a string, allows you to sort and execute queries by ItemName, enables you to include IS NULL within expressions that use sorting, and increases the Select item limit from 250 to 2500. Additionally, Query and QueryWithAttributes were deprecated and SSL is now required.

Select can now use WHERE and ORDER BY with itemNames().

Sort can now be applied to expressions that contain the IS NULL predicate operator, as long as IS NULL is not applied to the attribute that being sorted on.

Query and QueryWithAttributes Deprecated
Amazon SimpleDB replaced Query and QueryWithAttributes with Select, a query function that is similar to the standard SQL statement.

Requests over HTTP are deprecated. All requests must be made using HTTPS.
