These release notes provide a summary of all new features and resolved issues in the latest version of the Amazon E-Commerce Service (ECS). Previously, ItemSearch could only sort results by the item’s original release date (orig-rel-date). The original release date and the release date vary when items are re-released. For example, if a book is republished, its original release date and release date values will be different. Now, you can sort by each parameter. Original release dates are returned by the ItemAttributes response group with the OriginalReleaseDate tag and release dates are returned with the ReleaseDate tag. |

This response group only works with ItemSearch and ItemLookup when the product group is Books or, for non-US locales, ForeignBooks.
