AWS SDK for Java AWS now provides a Java SDK that covers Auto Scaling and other AWS products. The SDK provides basic functions not included in the Auto Scaling API, such as request authentication, request retries, and error handling. For more information about the AWS SDK for Java, go to http://aws.amazon.com/sdkforjava.

Known Issues

Issue Description Impact
1 Auto Scaling is a feature of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). You must be signed up for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service in order to call the Auto Scaling APIs.
2 Calling TerminateInstanceInAutoScalingGroup API without a replacement can result in an Auto Scaling Group dropping below the minimum size. The Auto Scaling Group may stay below the minimum configured size until a scaling action or a SetDesiredCapacity API call increases the number of instances in the Auto Scaling Group.
3 SOAP requests over HTTP will result in the following error: Premature end of file. AWSRequestId:No request id received. API requests using SOAP are only supported over HTTPS.
