New Features
| Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) | Load balancers now have Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) IP addresses. This support is in addition to continued support for Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) addresses. Currently, IPv6 support exists only in the US-East and EU-West regions. For more information, go to Using IPv6 with Elastic Load Balancing. |
| Domain name zone apex aliases | You can now associate a domain's zone apex (e.g. example.com) with your load balancer by creating an Amazon Route 53 hosted zone. For more information, go to Using Domain Names With Elastic Load Balancing. |
| Application instance lockdown | Elastic Load Balancing provides a special Amazon EC2 security group that you can use to ensure that a back-end Amazon EC2 instance receives traffic only from Elastic Load Balancing. For more information, go to Using Security Groups with Elastic Load Balancing. |
