New Features

CloudWatch Batch and Paginated GET

A number of CloudWatch actions now include the MaxRecords and NextToken parameters which enable you to control pages of results to display.
CloudWatch Alarms

You can now create up to 5000 alarms per account. When invoked, an alarm can cause an Amazon SNS or Auto Scaling event to occur.
User Management Integration for CW Metrics

Amazon CloudWatch now integrates with Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM). For more information about IAM, go to http://aws.amazon.com/iam.

Known Issues

Amazon CloudWatch is dependent on Amazon EC2.

You must sign up for Amazon EC2 before you can use Amazon CloudWatch.
No custom date range.

AWS Management Console does not allow you to provide custom date range values. You can use the Amazon CloudWatch web service API and Command Line Tools to retrieve data with custom date range values.
