Release: Amazon Route 53 on 2012-03-21
This release of Amazon Route 53 introduces latency-based routing.
Details
New Features
| Feature |
Description |
| Latency-based routing |
Route 53 now supports latency-based routing, which allows Route 53 to respond to queries based on latency between
end users and Amazon EC2 regions. For more information about how latency-based routing works, see
Creating Latency
Resource Record Sets in the Amazon Route 53 Developer Guide. |
| Aliasing within a hosted zone |
Route 53 now supports alias resource record sets that alias to other resource record sets
within the same hosted zone. This allows complex compositions of latency-based routing,
weighted resource record sets, and multi-record resource record sets. For more information, see the applicable topics in the
Amazon Route 53 Developer Guide. |
| Resource record set counts |
The Route 53 console and API now report how many resource record sets each hosted zone contains.
For more information, see
Listing the Hosted Zones for an AWS Account in the Amazon Route 53 Developer Guide or "POST CreateHostedZone," "GET GetHostedZone," and "GET ListHostedZones" in the
Actions on Hosted Zones
chapter of the Amazon Route 53 API Reference. |
