Meet the Speakers
Mike Culver joined the Developer Relations Group of Amazon Web Services in 2006. He brings with him fifteen years of technology leadership experience, including five years working as a Group Program Manager for Microsoft. Culver has a strong background running an IT organization, with over a decade of experience in the U.S. Electrical Wholesale Distribution industry. As a Web Services Evangelist at Amazon, he helps developers take advantage of disruptive technologies that change the way the industry thinks about computer applications, and the way that businesses compete.
Majed Itani joined SugarCRM in mid 2004. As one of the first engineers of the company, Itani has worked on almost every aspect of the product including the platform framework, module builder and studio. As software architect, he is responsible for ensuring the design and the stability of the product as well as providing both a vision and a path for the product going forward. Prior to joining SugarCRM, Itani worked as an engineer for Apple, Ariba, Adobe, and Quinstreet. He holds a degree in Mathematics applied to Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Melody Ng is the Manager of the Data Management Emerging Partnerships & Technologies team in the Data Management Solutions organization. Over the years, Ng has focused on emerging technologies and their adoption in global emerging markets. She is based in the IBM Toronto Lab and has held positions in various teams including the IBM DB2/SAP Integration & Support Centre and the DB2 Strategic Linux Technologies Team. In her last role, Ng was part of the DB2 Competitive Technologies and Partner Enablement team and has widely presented and published articles on the latest technologies in DB2, Linux clusters, and high availability. Her most recent area of interest includes enabling Data Management portfolio of products and business partners on emerging technologies such as virtualization, appliances, cloud and SaaS.
Jason Chan is the Linux and Virtualization lead of the Data Management Emerging Partnerships & Technologies team based in Toronto, Canada. Throughout his career at IBM, Chan has led efforts to enable DB2 and other Data Management products on various technologies such as Linux, virtualization, SaaS and cloud computing. He frequently engages business partners to bring to the forefront new technologies for use with IBM Data Management products.
