iBay 365 is based in China and currently has 2000+ users from around the world.
How have you incorporated Amazon Web Services as part of your architecture? What services are you using and how?
Currently, we are using Amazon EC2 to host our database, web services, and cache; Amazon S3 to host users' products and images; and Elastic Load Balancing.
What programming languages and/or tools did you use to build this solution?
We use mostly Python and the Python libraries build on top of the Amazon EC2 API.
Why did you decide to use AWS?
We were looking for a stable solution with complete and easy management options. AWS fit our requirements.
How has AWS helped your business?
AWS allows us to focus more on our business, without the hassle of hosting and managing costly hardware.
Can you share any metrics on your usage of AWS to date?
With its low price hosting, AWS makes expanding easy for start-up companies. By using AWS, we estimate saving 80% of the time it would have taken us to purchase hardware and install software and systems for an on-site physical infrastructure.
Do you have any future plans to incorporate other AWS solutions?
We're moving more projects to the AWS platform. Currently, we just use Amazon S3 to host coomao.com's product image. However, we would like to move the English site to AWS to serve users outside of China.
