Microsoft® BizSpark® is a global program designed to provide startup companies with access to Microsoft software, development tools, technical support and marketing visibility. As part of this program, Microsoft BizSpark offers program participants Microsoft software licenses, including Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server.
Amazon Web Services provides startup companies with a cloud-based IT infrastructure that allows them to replace up-front capital infrastructure expenses with low variable costs that scale with their business. With the Cloud, startup companies no longer need to plan for and procure servers and other IT infrastructure weeks or months in advance. This is particularly important for cash-strapped startups.
AWS has collaborated with Microsoft to allow you to run your BizSpark-related Windows Server and SQL Server products on Amazon Web Services with no additional Microsoft software licensing costs¹. For start-up companies that want to build on Microsoft technologies, this benefit provides you with the ability to use the AWS Cloud to eliminate capital costs, while providing elasticity and faster time-to-market. See the BizSpark FAQ for more information.
