Amazon Web Services: Cloud Infrastructure for Microsoft BizSpark Participants

Microsoft® BizSpark® is a global program designed to provide startup companies with access to Microsoft software, development tools, technical support and marketing visibility. As part of this program, Microsoft BizSpark offers program participants Microsoft software licenses, including Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

Amazon Web Services provides startup companies with a cloud-based IT infrastructure that allows them to replace up-front capital infrastructure expenses with low variable costs that scale with their business. With the Cloud, startup companies no longer need to plan for and procure servers and other IT infrastructure weeks or months in advance. This is particularly important for cash-strapped startups.

AWS has collaborated with Microsoft to allow you to run your BizSpark-related Windows Server and SQL Server products on Amazon Web Services with no additional Microsoft software licensing costs1. For start-up companies that want to build on Microsoft technologies, this benefit provides you with the ability to use the AWS Cloud to eliminate capital costs, while providing elasticity and faster time-to-market. How to get Started

Already a Microsoft® BizSpark® Member?

If you are already a Microsoft BizSpark member, you can get started with your BizSpark benefits on AWS by starting your sign up process here and then visiting the BizSpark site to complete your signup - BizSpark Web Site. Note: You must be the Primary BizSpark Member to take advantage of this offer.

If you want to run the Microsoft software that was licensed to you as part of the BizSpark program on AWS, we will use your BizSpark Subscriber ID number, your name and AWS account number to validate with Microsoft that you are a valid member of the BizSpark program.

Not a Microsoft® BizSpark® Member?

Is your business:

  • Developing Software?
  • Privately held?
  • Less than three years old?
  • Making less than $1 million USD annually?
