Welcome to the Oracle on AWS Test Drive Labs. The purpose of the Oracle Test Drive program is to provide customers with the ability to quickly and easily explore the benefits of using Oracle software on AWS server infrastructure. These labs have been developed by Oracle and AWS partners and are provided free of charge for educational and demonstration purposes. Each Test Drive lab includes up to 5 hours of complimentary AWS server time to complete the lab, and you can return here and to try any or all of the Test drive Labs at any time, so feel free to experiment and explore!

Oracle Secure Backup to AWS

Oracle Secure Backup cloud module will enable you to move your oracle database backups to cloud with little effort. This lab walks you through the process of taking backup to Amazon Web Services S3 and successfully restoring it.

Oracle Database Disaster Recovery

Dbvisit Standby allows Oracle Standard Edition Database users to easily create and manage standby databases in the Cloud for disaster recovery, testing, read-only reporting, and other uses. This lab gives you hands-on access to explore the features, ease of use, and power of the product using the command line or GUI interface.

This lab will introduce you to running on Oracle11.2 on Amazon AWS. Users will experience how running Oracle on AWS is nearly identical to running it on premises. General usage as well as Oracle Application Express (APEX) will be demonstrated. Be up and running on your own private Oracle database within minutes on AWS. A proof of concept is available once lab is complete, upon request.

Oracle Secure Backup to S3

This lab will guide the user through setting up Oracle Secure Backup Cloud Module from start to finish, and demonstrate backing the database up to S3. Users should have an Oracle Technet (OTN) account and a valid Amazon AWS login. Be up and running within minutes. A proof of concept is available once lab is complete, upon request.

Oracle DataGuard

In this lab users will configure, from scratch, an Oracle DataGuard configured database within Amazon AWS. The lab uses Oracle 11.2 and two AWS instances and shows how simple the process is to provide high availability instances of an Oracle database, all up and running within minutes. Data Mining

This test drive walks through some basic exercises in doing predictive analytics within an Oracle 11g Database instance using the Oracle Data Miner extension for Oracle SQL Developer. You use a drag-and-drop “workflow” interface to build a data mining model that predicts the likelihood of purchase for a set of prospects. Oracle Data Mining is ideal for automatically finding patterns, understanding relationships, and making predictions in large data sets.

Excel Analysis of OLAP Data

This test drive allows you to see how easy it is to view and analyze data using Microsoft Excel from data from the Oracle database. Data is stored in cube objects in the Oracle database using the Oracle OLAP option. This data is accessed in Excel via the MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP from Simba Technologies.
