Oracle Test Drive Labs

Welcome to the Oracle on AWS Test Drive Labs. The purpose of the Oracle Test Drive program is to provide customers with the ability to quickly and easily explore the benefits of using Oracle software on AWS server infrastructure. These labs have been developed by Oracle and AWS partners and are provided free of charge for educational and demonstration purposes. Each Test Drive lab includes up to 5 hours of complimentary AWS server time to complete the lab, and you can return here and to try any or all of the Test drive Labs at any time, so feel free to experiment and explore!

Oracle Secure Backup to AWS

Oracle Secure Backup cloud module will enable you to move your oracle database backups to cloud with little effort. This lab walks you through the process of taking backup to Amazon Web Services S3 and successfully restoring it.

Oracle Data Guard Disaster Recovery

Good Disaster Recovery solution is a costly affair as it involves high investment in infrastructure which is mostly idle. Cloud computing is the go-to platform to host your disaster recovery solution as it can not only protect you against geographical failures but also helps you reap the benefits of cloud with its pay-as-you-go model. Try this lab to learn more about Database DR in cloud.

Oracle Database Disaster Recovery

Dbvisit Standby allows Oracle Standard Edition Database users to easily create and manage standby databases in the Cloud for disaster recovery, testing, read-only reporting, and other uses. This lab gives you hands-on access to explore the features, ease of use, and power of the product using the command line or GUI interface.

Oracle11g on AWS

This lab will introduce you to running on Oracle11.2 on Amazon AWS. Users will experience how running Oracle on AWS is nearly identical to running it on premises. General usage as well as Oracle Application Express (APEX) will be demonstrated. Be up and running on your own private Oracle database within minutes on AWS. A proof of concept is available once lab is complete, upon request.

Oracle Secure Backup to S3

This lab will guide the user through setting up Oracle Secure Backup Cloud Module from start to finish, and demonstrate backing the database up to S3. Users should have an Oracle Technet (OTN) account and a valid Amazon AWS login. Be up and running within minutes. A proof of concept is available once lab is complete, upon request.

Oracle DataGuard

In this lab users will configure, from scratch, an Oracle DataGuard configured database within Amazon AWS. The lab uses Oracle 11.2 and two AWS instances and shows how simple the process is to provide high availability instances of an Oracle database, all up and running within minutes. A proof of concept is available once lab is complete, upon request.

Oracle Active DataGuard

In this lab users will configure, from scratch, an Oracle Active DataGuard database within Amazon AWS. The lab uses Oracle 11.2 and two AWS instances and shows how simple the process is, and you can be up and running within minutes. A proof of concept is available once lab is complete, upon request.

Data Mining

This test drive walks through some basic exercises in doing predictive analytics within an Oracle 11g Database instance using the Oracle Data Miner extension for Oracle SQL Developer. You use a drag-and-drop “workflow” interface to build a data mining model that predicts the likelihood of purchase for a set of prospects. Oracle Data Mining is ideal for automatically finding patterns, understanding relationships, and making predictions in large data sets.

Excel Analysis of OLAP Data

This test drive allows you to see how easy it is to view and analyze data using Microsoft Excel from data from the Oracle database. Data is stored in cube objects in the Oracle database using the Oracle OLAP option. This data is accessed in Excel via the MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP from Simba Technologies.

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c - Monitoring Essentials

Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c builds on Oracle unique ability to offer entire software and systems stacks, ranging from infrastructure to development platforms to databases and business applications. A combination of Oracle stack and Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c delivers built-in manageability for the entire cloud lifecycle across your on-prem and hybrid cloud environment. This lab provides an overview of OEM 12c navigation, auto discovery, monitoring, management and reporting features. Try this lab to gain insight into OEM 12c Monitoring Essentials.

Oracle Business Intelligence

This test drive will present a quick overview of OBIEE 11g and allow users to create reports and dashboards for themselves. The lab uses version 11.1.1.6 of Oracle BI and showcases the following features: adhoc reports, graphs, maps, and color-coding.

Oracle BI Publisher

This test drive covers using Oracle BI Publisher 11g to create simple reports based on Oracle Database. Also, it shows you how to create report layouts using the Layout Editor online, and how to schedule reports.

CARBON Business Intelligence Reporting Software

CarbonBI enables businesses to Create and modify operational reports, add metrics “on the fly”, and build personalized dashboards from Oracle enterprise application environments. Powered by AWS, this Test Drive allows you to try this powerful business intelligence tool out for yourself.

Oracle BI Applications

Business intelligence platforms enable all types of users - from IT staff to consultants to business users - to build applications that help organizations learn about and understand their business. Oracle Business Intelligence is the market leader in BI platforms. Deploying BI in the cloud is potentially a quicker, lower-cost and easier-to-deploy alternative. Try this lab to get a hands-on experience of running Oracle BI Applications in the cloud.

Off-load Oracle Data for Reporting

Dbvisit Reporting allows organizations that use Oracle databases to easily off-load data from their production systems to dedicated Oracle or MySQL reporting environments in the AWS Cloud. This lab gives you hands-on access to explore the replication features and power of the product using a command line interface.

Oracle Hyperion Planning

This test drive will present a high-level overview of Hyperion Planning, the leading budgeting, planning and forecasting application on the market. Users will also be guided through a basic but complete cycle of entering workforce, revenue and operating expense plans and calculating the data to generate an integrated income statement. This integration of planning, reporting and powerful analytics is a primary differentiator for Hyperion Planning in the enterprise marketplace.

Siebel on AWS

This lab gives customers a chance to learn basic and advanced Siebel CRM concepts. The lab enables customers to experience firsthand how to run Siebel using Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS for Oracle. The lab also includes Enterprise Beacons version control for Siebel. Customers will be given 180 minutes of lab time that they can use over a period of 3 months once they register.

E-Business Suite Clone to the Cloud

This Test Drive Lab uses your own data to evaluate EBS in the Cloud. Through this new and innovate program, BizTech’s Clone to the Cloud test drive will copy your on-premises EBS Instance to a private and secure cloud-computing environment on AWS. This new instance of EBS can then be used for non-production purposes, enabling a fast and agile implementation.

Siebel Virtual Loyalty and Marketing Appliance

In this lab, users will gain an understanding of Siebel Loyalty and Marketing concepts by configuring promotions in a simple retail program and processing some sample transactions to show the product in action. Users will be given up to 5 hours of lab time with an option to continue the discussion and create a proof of concept for their specific scenarios.

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Hybrid Cloud Deployment

This Test Drive allows you to experience Oracle E-Business Suite R12 running on AWS and managed from an on-premise enterprise monitoring system. This Test Drive is an example for how enterprise applications can now be deployed in a hybrid fashion using a mixture of both cloud and on-premises resources, all transparent to the users of the system.
