Symantec and Amazon Web Services
Amazon Web Services (AWS) users can now use Symantec’s Endpoint Protection and Veritas Storage Foundation™ Basic to help protect and manage their instances running Microsoft Windows Server® on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).
Symantec™ Endpoint Protection (SEP) combines Symantec AntiVirus with advanced threat prevention to deliver added defense against malicious attacks such as viruses, worms, spyware, Trojans, zero-day threats and rootkits. Amazon EC2 users now have access to added protection technologies from SEP, allowing them to enhance the security of their Amazon EC2 instances running Microsoft Windows Server®.
Veritas Storage Foundation Basic brings advanced online storage management to Microsoft Windows Server® environments. The solution enables users to configure and manage storage online from a single tool, without interrupting access to servers and mission-critical applications. Unlike point solutions, Storage Foundation Basic enables IT organizations to manage all their storage needs on AWS.

Getting Started
Follow these steps to begin using a Symantec AMI:
- Sign up for Amazon EC2
- Subscribe to the Symantec AMIs of your choice: visit http://www.symantec.com/amazon, click on the “Available AMIs” tab or click on the “subscribe” link listed under ‘Symantec AMIs’ below
