Amazon Lumberyard Beta 1.22 Now Available, Adds New Asset Dependency Graph, Editor Performance Improvements

Posted on: Dec 13, 2019

We are excited to announce the release of Amazon Lumberyard Beta 1.22, which includes 97 new improvements, fixes, and features to Amazon’s free, cross-platform 3D engine that enables you to create the highest-quality games, connect games to the vast compute and storage of the AWS Cloud, and engage fans with Twitch.

Lumberyard Beta 1.22 introduces a new asset dependency system, which enables developers to easily determine all of the assets that are required for a game release, as well as their dependencies. With Lumberyard’s new asset dependency system, developers can now tag, evaluate, and deploy packaged assets in a few steps, versus days to weeks of development effort.

Lumberyard Beta 1.22 also includes editor performance improvements and new tools for helping developers optimize and debug their games, including an asset memory analyzer, memory overrun detection tool, and a new PhysX gem for debugging physics issues.
