AWS Database Migration Service Adds Support for MongoDB and Amazon DynamoDB

Posted on: Apr 10, 2017

AWS Database Migration Service has expanded its functionality to support migration of NoSQL databases. This gives you significant new migration options in addition to its existing relational database and data warehouse migration capabilities.

MongoDB databases are now supported as a migration source, and Amazon DynamoDB databases are supported as a migration target. This means you can stream data from MongoDB, as well as any supported AWS DMS source including Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, SAP ASE and Microsoft SQL Server, to Amazon DynamoDB. Once your data is in Amazon DynamoDB, you can leverage the power of this NoSQL database for applications that need consistent, single-digit millisecond latency at any scale.

AWS Database Migration Service helps you migrate relational databases, NoSQL databases and data warehouses to AWS, easily and securely and with minimal downtime.
