Amazon RDS for Oracle Supports X1 Instances in AWS GovCloud (US)

Posted on: May 25, 2018

(Updated) You can now use X1 instances to run Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) for Oracle in the AWS GovCloud (US) region. The X1 instance type offers a higher ratio of memory to vCPU than most other Amazon EC2 instance types.

Please see the Amazon RDS for Oracle X1/X1e launch announcement and the Amazon RDS for Oracle documentation for more details. Note that the AWS GovCloud (US) region supports the X1 instance type, but not the X1e instance type at this time.

Amazon RDS for Oracle makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale Oracle Database deployments in the cloud. See RDS Oracle pricing for regional availability.
