AWS Shield Advanced Announces New Onboarding Wizard
Today, AWS Shield Advanced announced a new onboarding wizard to help you set up your resources for protection and enable faster DDoS incident response by providing emergency contacts and giving the AWS DDoS Response Team (DRT) IAM permissions.
The new wizard provides a step-by-step guide to help you set up your DDoS protections in 2 easy steps.
You can protect your applications on AWS by choosing individual resources from the drop down, choosing all your resources, or specifying the list of resources' Amazon Resource Number (ARN) in the text box. In addition, the wizard enables faster incident response with DRT. You can authorize DRT to access your AWS WAF configurations, and VPC flow log buckets, allowing them to quickly triage and resolve the attacks when you escalate possible DDoS attacks to them through AWS Support. You can also add additional emergency contacts (besides the email address associated with your AWS Account) to whom you'd like us to forward notifications about escalations to the DRT and the times where we need to proactively reach out to you during DDoS incidents.
