Amazon Transcribe is an automatic speech recognition (ASR) service that makes it easy for you to add a speech-to-text capability to your applications. Amazon Transcribe now supports transcription of audio in the following new languages: Russian and Chinese Mandarin-Mainland. These languages expand upon the existing languages already available in Amazon Transcribe: US English, UK English, AU English, Indian English, Spanish, US Spanish, French, Canadian French, Italian, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Korean, and Modern Standard Arabic.

The new set of languages expands the markets served by Amazon Transcribe to enable use cases in contact centers, media and entertainment, education, among others, to reach a broader global audience. For example, you can now use the service to create subtitles of movies or generate contact center transcripts in either Russian or Chinese Mandarin-Mainland for customer service analytics.

Russian and Chinese Mandarin-Mainland are available in all AWS Regions that Amazon Transcribe is available at no additional cost. Try the new set of languages through the Amazon Transcribe console, or use the Command Line Interface (CLI) and AWS SDKs. For more information, visit the documentation page.
