Amazon Lex launches support for British English
We are excited to announce that Amazon Lex now supports British English. Starting today, you can build a conversational interface in British English and deploy it across a variety of use cases such as interactive voice response systems, self-service chatbots, and application bots.
Amazon Lex is a service for building conversational interfaces into any application using voice and text. Amazon Lex provides deep learning powered automatic speech recognition (ASR) for converting speech to text, and natural language understanding (NLU) to recognize the intent of the text, to enable you to build applications with highly engaging user experiences and lifelike conversational interactions. With British English, you can deliver a robust and localized conversational experience that accurately understands the British accent. Amazon Lex also provides pre-defined slots that are localized to capture information such as common names and cities found in England.
