Announcing AWS Public Safety and Disaster Response Technology Partners

Posted on: Dec 3, 2020

Today, we are announcing the launch of a net-new track within the AWS Public Safety and Disaster Response (PSDR) Competency to now include AWS Technology Partners. These AWS Competency Partners have deep expertise and proven customer success in designing technology solutions to aid in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from various natural and man-made disasters and emergencies globally.

2020 was an unprecedented year in terms of disasters and public safety events: an unprecedented hurricane season with the most named storms in the Atlantic ever recorded, wildfires burned more than 4 million acres in California and devastated large portions of Australia, floods affected Vietnam and Cambodia and killed 66 people in Indonesia, all against a backdrop of a global pandemic. The events of this year have posed many challenges for our first responders and emergency response agencies on the front lines, in communities large and small across the world.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) helps these first responders and emergency response agencies complete their mission and mitigate impact to communities affected by disasters. These customers can tap into the on-demand infrastructure of AWS at the edge, which previously would have required expensive up-front and ongoing investments in workforce and technology.

This is made possible with the help of our AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners who step up every day to ensure that our first responders, healthcare workers, and citizens remain safe.

The launch of an additional track within the Public Safety and Disaster Response Competency showcases highly specialized and dedicated AWS Technology Partners in the space. The expansion includes the addition of 16 Independent Software Vendor (ISV) solutions that have been vetted by AWS to follow architectural best practices, and proven repeat customer success. Together with the Consulting Partner track launched as re:Invent 2019, the Public Safety and Disaster Response Competency now holds 35 AWS Partners (and counting) across every region. This group of Partners are our first choice in AWS Partners to help our customers around the world improve organizational capacity to prepare, respond, and recover from emergencies and disasters.
