AWS has updated Serverless Bot Framework, an AWS Solutions Implementation that allows customers to automatically set up a chatbot application with sample interactions. The new functionalities help customers scale the use of their chatbots with integrations with AWS Lambda and Amazon DynamoDB.

The solution now enables customers to explore three types of Amazon Lex V2 integration with AWS Lambda. First, it enables the chatbot to use an AWS Lambda function for intent fulfillment and for storing the intent data into an Amazon DynamoDB table. Second, it enables the chatbot to use an AWS Lambda function for slot validation by retrieving data from Amazon DynamoDB. Third, it allows the chatbot to connect to an external API via an AWS Lambda function.

Amazon Lex V2 offers multiple languages in a single bot, easy addition of a new language to an existing bot, sentiment analysis of requests sent to the bot, support for bi-directional streaming features such as barge-in and configurable timeout. Amazon Polly is also used to convert text to life-like speech in this solutions.
