AWS Backup now supports organization-wide delegation of backup administration to member accounts within AWS Organizations. This enables delegated backup administrators to create and manage backup policies and monitor backup activity across accounts within the organization.
You can get started with delegation of AWS Backup administration by using the AWS Backup and AWS Organizations console, API, or CLI. You can delegate backup management for the organization, previously afforded to your management account only, to dedicated backup administration accounts. This removes the need for member accounts to access management account for backup administration on behalf of their organization. Organization-wide backup administration delegation enables organizations to securely centralize their AWS Backup management at scale.
Delegation of AWS Backup administration is available in US East (Ohio), US East (N Virginia), US West (North California), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm), and South America (São Paulo) Regions.
