Amazon RDS events now include tags for filtering and routing

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) events now include tags in the message body, which provide metadata about the resource that was affected by the service event. The message receiver can use these tags to do payload-based parsing with rule matching, enabling workflows such as routing, filtering, and down stream automation.

Now that Amazon RDS events include tags, you can simplify your application architecture, remove the need for describe API calls and enable downstream automation via services like Amazon Lambda and AWS Systems Manager. Amazon RDS events including tags, combined with message body filtering, and routing logic from subscribing systems like Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Simple Queuing Service (SQS), or Amazon EventBridge can also get your events to your preferred communication channel like email, chat or paging systems.
