Why AWS Partner Network Badges Matter for Customers and APN Partners

APN Badge Manager_examplesThe AWS Partner Network (APN) is the global partner program for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is focused on helping APN Partners build successful AWS-based businesses or solutions on behalf of AWS customers.

We launched new APN Badges in 2017 to help APN Partners highlight their partnership with AWS. These badges, in turn, help AWS customers identify and choose APN Partners by clearly showcasing the subject matter expertise offered by individual companies.

Why APN Badges Matter for AWS Customers

As you start to explore opportunities with our APN Partners, take special note of the APN Program designations they have listed on their APN Badge.

You will see APN Badges displayed on APN Partner contributions to our blog, at events such as AWS re:Invent, and even on APN Partner websites. In addition to indicating what tier an APN Partner is in (Standard, Advanced, Premier), as well as their APN Partner Type (Consulting or Technology), APN Badges can indicate the subject matter expertise offered by APN Partners.

For example, APN Partners go on to earn special designations, such as AWS Competencies in areas like Machine Learning, Big Data, and Migration.

AWS Competencies are granted to APN Partners who have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialized solution areas. To receive an AWS Competency, APN Partners must undergo rigorous technical validation related to industry-specific technology, as well as an assessment of the security, performance, and reliability of their AWS solutions. This validation gives AWS customers complete confidence in choosing the top APN Partners.

Here are all the APN Program designations customers will see on APN Badges:

  • AWS Competency Partner
    Attaining an AWS Competency allows APN Partners to differentiate themselves to customers by showcasing expertise in a particular solution area.
  • AWS MSP Partner
    Our Managed Service Providers (MSPs) are skilled at cloud infrastructure and application migration, and deliver value to customers by offering proactive monitoring, automation, and management of a customer’s environment.
  • AWS SaaS Partner
    The AWS SaaS Partner Program provides APN Partners with support as they build, launch, and grow software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions on AWS.
  • AWS Public Sector Partner
    These APN Partners have a strong emphasis in public sector, including government, education, and non-profit.
  • AWS Solution Provider
    Authorized AWS Solution Providers manage, service, support, and bill AWS accounts for end customers.
  • AWS Marketplace Seller
    These independent software vendors make it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy software on AWS.

Why APN Badges Matter for APN Partners

APN Badge Manager is a self-service marketing tool that allows Standard-tier and above APN Partners to access, manage, and create custom badges to suit different communications goals.

As you apply for various APN Programs and meet the minimum criteria, your Alliance Lead can create, download, and manage custom badges for your company’s own general marketing use. Alliance Leads can access Badge Manager on the APN Partner Central home page under the Quick Links section.

The tool will dynamically create an APN Badge with up to five program components. If your organization has more than five, we encourage you to select the program designation that are most relevant to the collateral attached to the APN Badge being used.

A Note to APN Partners About Using AWS Logos

Please ensure you are leveraging the latest APN Badge, with the new APN logo in all your marketing collateral.
