Turbocharge Your ASP.NET site with Amazon S3

If you are an ASP.NET developer, I wanted to let you know that I just posted some sample code and a screencast to the AWS Resource Center. I put the code and screencast together to solve a real-world problem of my own.

I have a website that I run out of my house on a truly crummy DSL line, and the user experience for photo downloads is awful (it’s a photo-sharing site). Wouldn’t it be cool if the photos were stored and delivered out of Amazon S3, using Amazon’s pipe, while the skeleton of the site still runs on my home server? That’s the problem that this code sample addresses.

Interested in your feedback on whether it helps you with your own site…
