AWS Certification exam preparation

Build the knowledge and skills to propel your career

What is an AWS Certification?

An AWS Certification is a credential issued by AWS to individuals who show they have specific knowledge, skills, and abilities. We work with AWS experts to set the bar for required experience in common cloud job roles and expertise in specific technical areas. You can show you meet that bar by taking—and passing—one of our AWS Certification exams. When you do, AWS awards you an AWS Certification.

Getting AWS Certified can help you propel your career, whether you’re looking to find a new role, showcase your skills to take on a new project, or become your team’s go-to expert. And because AWS Certification exams are created by experts in the relevant role or technical area, preparing for one of these exams helps you build the required skills identified by skilled practitioners in the field.

What does it take to pass?

Earning an AWS Certification requires passing a timed, proctored exam. Each exam has a specific number of questions, time allotment to complete the exam, and passing score. And if you’re wondering what the exam will cover, what is out of scope, and what experience we suggest you have before taking the exam, you can find that information in our exam guides.

How do you take an exam?

You can take an AWS Certification exam from one of our test delivery providers—Pearson VUE or PSI. Some exams and some language options are only available from a specific provider. You’ll want to review the options for the exam you intend to take so you know what to expect.
