WAF-SaaS for Amazon Web Services

art of defence�s distributed web application firewall (dWAF) SaaS offering, hyperguard SaaS, complements and extends the comprehensive network security protection provided by AWS to the web application layer.

AWS customers can access hyperguard SaaS by simply adding a small software plug-in to their existing web server Amazon Machine Image (AMI), or by using art of defence�s custom AMI. art of defence hosts the resource-heavy pieces of the dWAF on Amazon EC2 leaving just a small footprint on a customer's AMI. Thus, hyperguard scales simply with the number of the customer�s web server AMIs without a need to purchase further AMIs.

The solution is ideal for AWS SaaS partners and for AWS end customers who want application-level protection beyond the network layer for their cloud offerings.

Easy deployment without risking performance bottlenecks

For hyperguard protecting your HTTP traffic you only have to install a — very small — software plug-in, called Enforcer, into your appropriate web delivery AMIs (e.g. web server or application server) — or simply use our hyperguard SaaS enhanced Amazon Standard AMIs.

The Enforcer instances will communicate with the hyperguard Decider Cloud (hyperguard DC) on Amazon EC2 and will get back and enforce the appropriate decision within a few milliseconds. Or, if you use hyperguard for Web Application Attack Detection only, all HTTP traffic will never be touched — but just "copied" to the hyperguard Decider Cloud for analysis and further reaction.
