  • AWS Accreditations

    Accreditations provide an important baseline knowledge of AWS so that as you work with customers, you can feel confident in your knowledge of the value of AWS.

    To qualify for the Select Tier, two AWS Business Professional Accreditation and two AWS Technical Professional Accreditations are required. These courses are only 6 hours each, and can be accessed through the Training tab on the APN Partner Central.

    AWS Certifications

    Earning your AWS Certification helps you demonstrate your deep technical skills and expertise to design, deploy, and operate applications and infrastructure on AWS. AWS Certification is a industry-recognized credential, and shows customers, employers, and recruiters that you have the skills and knowledge to build AWS solutions.

    Two AWS Foundational Certified Individuals and two Associate, Professional, or Specialty Certifications are required for your firm to qualify for the Select Tier. We offer Certifications across technical roles and levels of proficiency.

  • Step #2: Gain Customer References
  • Build Your AWS Customer Base

    Once you have completed a number of trainings and have grown in your knowledge of AWS, you can start building your customer base and launching opportunities. To get to APN Select Tier, you must maintain three "launched" opportunities over a rolling 12-month period with a total combined estimated monthly recurring revenue (MRR) of $1,500. All opportunities are to be tracked and managed via the Opportunity Management tool in APN Partner Central.

    Get References from your Customers

    Once you have made a meaningful impact for your AWS customers, start building your customer reference base. It is very important that you establish credibility with your customers, and with AWS, and demonstrate that you have a strong AWS-based practice that past and current customers would recommend to other prospects. You will need one publicly referenceable customer to progress to Select Tier. You can designate one of your launched opportunities as publicly referenceable via the Opportunity Management tool in APN Partner Central.

    Get Customer Satisfaction Responses

    To upgrade to Select Tier, you must collect five customer satisfaction responses. These customer responses can be collected through the "Rate this Partner" function within your APN Partner Solutions Finder (PSF) listing.

    To upgrade to Advanced Tier, you need to collect 20 Customer Satisfaction Responses. These are customer responses that are collected through the "Rate this Partner" function within your APN Partner Solutions Finder listing.

  • Step #3: Apply for an Upgrade
  • Use the following checklist to confirm that you meet all the requirements for the Select Tier.

    If you comply with the requirements, then congratulations! You have completed everything you need to become a Select Tier APN Partner. Now you can apply to upgrade. To apply, log into the APN Partner Central, go to your Partner Scorecard, and click “Apply for Upgrade”, found at the top of the page. A member of the APN Team will be notified of your submission and will be in touch with next steps.

    If you're not yet in compliance with all of the requirements for the Select Tier, we encourage you to keep working. Select Tier APN Partners receive a number of additional benefits, so don't stop now!

    AWS Solution Provider Program: This program enables qualified APN Partners to resell AWS services to both commercial and public sector end customers.

    AWS Service Delivery Program: This program highlights APN Partners with a track record of delivering specific AWS services to customers.

    AWS Public Sector Partner Program: The Public Sector Program enables public sector partners to accelerate their business growth on AWS through alignment with our public sector teams.

    APN Customer Engagements Program: Under the APN Customer Engagements Program, eligible APN Partners can receive AWS generated leads and opportunities through Opportunity Management Platforms as well as access to sales and technical support resourcs to drive a successful customer outcome.

    APN Navigate Tracks: The APN Navigate Tracks provides a prescriptive path for APN Partners to specialize on AWS. If offers guidance to APN Partners on how to become AWS experts and deploy innovative solutions on behalf of customers.

    Funding Programs

    Proof-of-Concepts: At the Select Tier, APN Partners become eligible for the AWS Proof of Concept (POC) Program, which is designed to facilitate and help accelerate AWS customer projects.

    Innovation Sandbox: This benefit extends AWS Promotional Credits towards the development of new offerings on AWS and affords you the ability offer Free Trials for customers.

    AWS Promotional Credits: APN Partners at Select Tier will recieve annual AWS Promotional Credits as well as additional AWS Promotional credits for every individual who has attained Associate, Professional, and/or Specialty certifications.

    Partner Opportunity Acceleration Funding: APN Partners will have access to Partner Opportunity Acceleration funding. This is available through the Partner Acceleration Tool in Partner Central.

    Marketing Programs

    Access to APN Marketing Central: APN Marketing Central provides a wealth of marketing tools and resources that enable APN Partners to generate demand for your services and solutions on AWS.

    Additional Benefits

    APN Badge Manager Access: Once an APN Partner reaches the Select Tier, they gain access to an official APN Badge as well as and badges related to designations they achieve.     Company Profile in the Partner Solutions Finder: At the Select Tier, APN Partners are able to create an Partner Solutions Finderlisting. The Partner Solutions Finder is one of the most effective ways for an APN Partner to surface to prospective customers.

    Access to the AWS Educate Job Board: This benefits allows APN Partners open positions with top university talent. Students can search job requisitions that match their selected job family and skill set, and apply for positions directly in the Job Board.

Becoming a Select Tier Partner

Becoming a Select Tier APN Partner opens up a number of marketing opportunities you can take advantage of to help you grow your customer base on AWS. You also gain official recognition as an APN Partner through the ability to list your firm in the Partner Solutions Finder, and through your access to an official APN logo. But don't stop here.

While at the Select Tier, we recommend that you focus on how you can continue to differentiate your firm on AWS, build a deep bench of AWS Trained & Certified employees, and move up to the Advanced and Premier Tiers.

  • AWS Accreditations

    Accreditations provide an important baseline knowledge of AWS so you can work with customers and feel confident of your knowledge and expertise of utilizing AWS.

    For Advanced Tier, four AWS Business Professional Accreditation and four AWS Technical Professional Accreditations are required.

    These courses are only 6 hours each and can be accessed through the Training tab on the APN Partner Central.

    Once completed, we recommend that these employees continue the learning path for either Business Professional or Technical Professional to better assist customers.

    AWS Certifications

    Earning AWS Certification helps you demonstrate your deep technical skills and expertise to design, deploy, and operate applications and infrastructure on AWS. AWS Certification is a industry-recognized credential, and shows customers, employers, and recruiters that you have the skills and knowledge to build AWS solutions.

  • Continue to Build Your AWS-based Business

    To qualify for the Advanced Tier, you much have a total of 20 launched opportunities over a rolling 12-month period of time with a total combined estimated monthly recurring revenue (MRR) minimum of $10,000. All opportunities are to be tracked and managed via the Opportunity Management tool in Partner Central.

    To increase your AWS direct and influenced revenue, we recommend that you participate in the programs and marketing opportunities available to you at the Select Tier. Doing so will increase your exposure to AWS Customers, and will provide you with more opportunities to grow your AWS-based business.

    Develop a Partner Business Plan

    One of the key steps to upgrading to Advanced Tier is identifying and tracking specific objectives relating to membership in the APN via a documented business plan. Business plans will be validated by your Partner Development Contact, so reach out to them to learn more.

    Continue to Build Your Customer Reference Base

    Utilizing existing customer references is one of the most effective ways to reach new customers, and to demonstrate your success on AWS to AWS teams. As you continue to build a successful AWS-based business, be proactive about reaching out to your existing customers who you feel are strong references for your firm. Examples of references you can pursue include a testimonial for your website, a formal case study, a speaking opportunity at an event, or a customer profile for your blog.

    To become an APN Advanced Tier Partner, you must obtain two customer reference on AWS.You can designate launched opportunities as publicly referenceable via the Opportunity Management tool in APN Partner Central. Details relating to publicly referenceable opportunites may be displayed in AWS Marketing material, the Partner Solutions Finder (PSF) and AWS Webpages.

  • Once you qualify for the Advanced Tier, you gain many more opportunities to differentiate your firm to prospective customers. For example, Advanced Tier APN Partners are eligible to apply for the AWS Managed Service Program and the AWS Competency Program, two of the most effective Programs we offer to help customers find the right partners to help them meet their business needs on AWS.

    Partner Programs

    AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program: This program is designed for partners who are skilled at cloud infrastructure and application migration, and deliver value to customers by offering proactive monitoring, automation, and management of their customer's environment.

    AWS Competency Program: The AWS Competency Program is designed to highlight APN Partners who have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialized solution areas, verticals, and use cases.

    AWS Well-Architected Partner Program: The AWS Well-Architected Program trains APN Partners on how to perform Well-Architected workload reviews and make improvements in AWS customer workloads.

    Funding Programs

    At the Advanced Tier, you become eligible for a number of additional funding benefits, including additional POC funding. You also become eligible for MDF funding:

    Marketing Development Funds (MDF) Program: This program is designed to enable demand generation and go-to-market (GTM) activities for your firm. You will get a baseline of MDF to use every year, as well as additional funds for each Program designation you obtain from the AWS Competency, AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) and AWS Well-Architected Partner Programs.

    Additional Benefits

    Priority Listing in the Partner Solutions Finder: At the Advanced Tier, you are given priority listing (just below Premier Tier APN Partners) in the Partner Solutions Finder, increasing your firm's visibility to prospective customers.

    Specific APN Badges Recognizing Advanced Tier Status: As an Advanced APN Partner, you have access to specific APN badges which recognize your status.

    Dedicated Partner Development Manager: Once you reach the Advanced Tier, you will gain access to a named Partner Development Manager to help you continue to achieve your goals on AWS.

    Twenty-five AWS Technical Certified Individuals are required to get to Premier Tier. These are uniqe individuals who have obtained AWS Certifications at the Associate, Professional, or Specialty level. Of these 25, 10 must be Professional or Specialty Certifications.

    In order to get to Premier Tier, you must have 50 launched Opportunities over a rolling 12-month period with a total combined estimated monthly recurring revenue (MRR) of $50,000. All opportunities are to be tracked and managed with the Opportunity Management tool in APN Partner Central

    Expand Your Customer Reference Base

    To qualify for the Premier Tier, we require your firrm to designate 6 launched opportunities as pubicly referenceable via the Opportunity Management tool in APN Partner Central. Details relating to publcly referenceable opportunities may be displayed in AWS Marketing material, the Partner Solutions Finder (PSF) and AWS Webpages.

    Customer Satisfaction

  • Step #3: Show Expertise and Dedication
  • Develop a Partner Business Plan

    One of the key steps to upgrading to Advanced Tier is identifying and tracking specific objectives relating to membership in the APN via a documented business plan. Business plans will be validated by your Partner Development Contact, so reach out to them to learn more.

    Become an MSP or Competency Partner

    One of the requirements for the Premier Tier is that your firm has 3 Technical Program Validations. The validations can be from one or several different global APN Programs including: AWS Competency, AWS MSP, or AWS Well-Architected Partner Program. As part of this requirement, one of these three designations must be the AWS Managed Service Provider and/or a DevOps Competency Partner. This requirement is intended to help you demonstrate to customers your expertise in delivering deep value-added services on AWS.

    AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program: Designed for Consulting Partners who are skilled at cloud infrastructure and application migration, and deliver value to customers by offering proactive monitoring, automation, and management of their customer’s environment.

    AWS DevOps Competency Program: Designed for Consulting Partners who have deep experience working with businesses to help them implement continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.

    Demonstrate Long-Term Investment

    To qualify for the Premier Tier, you must demonstrate your long-term investment being an APN Partner by sustaining the Premier Tier Criteria for 6 months. Once you have sustained the Premier Tier Criteria for 6 months, you are able to submit an Executive Busines Review with your Partner Development Manager.

    The Executive Business Review looks at multiple aspects over your relationship with AWS, such as key business and technical milestones in an effort to measure the APN Partner's ability to maintain Premier Tier status year-over-year.

  • Step #4: Apply for an Upgrade
  • Use the following checklist to see if you meet all of the requirements for Premier Tier.

    If you comply with the requirements, then congratulations! You have completed everything needed to become a Premier Tier APN Partner! Now you can apply to upgrade. You can do this by logging into APN Partner Central, going to the Partner Scorecard, and clicking “Apply for Upgrade” found at the top of the page. A member of the APN Team will be notified of your submission and will be in touch with next steps.

    If not, keep checking off everything you need to get to the Premier Tier. For some APN Partners, advancing to the Premier Tier may not be your end goal. If that's the case, continue to develop your AWS-based practice and gain AWS Competencies to demonstrate your expertise in specific areas on AWS.

    You open up a wealth of opportunities for your firm by qualifying for the Premier Tier.

    Eligibility for Integrated Partner Campaigns: These comprehensive multi-touch integrated demand generation campaigns provide an opportunity for you to co-brand digital marketing assets, social media, webinars, and outbound calling to generate more qualified opportunities for your firm. Note that you must hold an AWS Competency to be eligible for this program.

    Eligibility for Additional AWS-Written Case Study: At the Premier Tier, you are eligible to co-create two written case studies highlighting your success solving a specific business callenge of AWS customers. To see example case studies, visit the APN Journal Page.

    APN Blog Guest Post: You are eligible to co-create a guest post on the APN Blog at Premier Tier.
