Download and run the installer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the SDK and Visual Studio tools.
Open Visual Studio and then click Get Started in the Start Page to configure the SDK with your access keys.
The AWS SDK for .NET provides a few different sample projects that demonstrate how to use AWS. The AWS Console Project is a good starting point:
From the Visual Studio Start Page, click New Project.
Select AWS from the list of templates.
Select AWS Console Project and click OK.
Leave Use existing account selected and click OK.
By creating a new project from the template, the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio (included with the AWS SDK for .NET) will automatically configure the project with your access keys. All you need to do is press F5 (Start) to run it.
This sample application is designed to show you how to:
- Declare a dependency on the AWS SDK for .NET.
- Read access keys from appSettings.
- Instantiate an Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) client.
- Interact with Amazon S3 in various ways, such as creating a bucket and uploading a file.
If you have trouble getting set up or have other feedback about this sample, let us know on GitHub.
