AWS EdStart, the AWS educational technology (EdTech) startup accelerator, is designed to help entrepreneurs build the next generation of online learning, analytics, and campus management solutions in the AWS Cloud. The program is designed to enable EdTech startups to move faster with specially tailored benefits.

Technology plays a key role in many classrooms, institutions, and learning environments, and AWS EdStart helps EdTech entrepreneurs build solutions that are secure, smart, scalable, and cost-effective. The AWS EdStart program provides EdTech startups with resources to quickly get started on AWS – including AWS Promotional Credits and access to training and support. AWS EdStart is a global community of like-minded people and companies that are solving complex educational problems. AWS EdStart offers two program levels. The AWS EdStart Innovators Tier is intended for the earliest stage EdTech startups. Once AWS EdStart Innovators have advanced their business and are working with customers, they can apply to become an AWS EdStart Member.

AWS EdStart Innovators Tier

The AWS EdStart Innovators Tier is designed to support the earliest stage EdTech startups. If you are not ready to apply for the AWS EdStart Members Tier, but still want to be a part of the community, this may be the best way for your startup to get involved. AWS EdStart Innovators are granted AWS Promotional Credits that allow them to explore AWS technology and build the foundation for their solution.

The AWS EdStart Members Tier is designed to help EdTech entrepreneurs build and scale the next generation of online learning, analytics, and campus management solutions on the AWS Cloud. Members of AWS EdStart are provided with resources and exposure to a large community of EdTech builders, leaders, and fellow entrepreneurs.


Technical training

As an AWS EdStart Member, you will have access to numerous technical training opportunities to support you in strengthening your AWS based business. Resources include webcasts, technical training sessions, and partner-led presentations.

AWS Promotional Credits

AWS Promotional Credits are designed to help cover costs associated with eligible AWS services. These credits are designed to be a short-term, finite tool for your long-term success. Live events

AWS EdStart live events bring members of the community together in a casual, social environment to foster networking and collaboration. Currently, the team hosts meetups, AWS EdStart Pitch Days, and receptions for community members.

Select market opportunities

There are a number of select collaborative marketing opportunities you can take advantage of as an AWS EdStart Member. As you establish and mature your business, you have opportunities to participate in webinars, case studies, blog posts, sponsorships, and more.


AWS EdStart fosters collaboration and conversation between experienced industry leaders and EdTech startups. Providing opportunities for mentorship has a long tradition of success at AWS and we want to extend that success to our AWS EdStart Members.
