Snehal helps you view
web interfaces on EMR clusters
on a private subnet

How can I access the application user interfaces that are on my Amazon EMR cluster?

Applications that you install on an Amazon EMR cluster, such as Spark and Hadoop, publish user interfaces as websites. These websites are available only in the private subnet that your Amazon EMR cluster is in. They are not published on the internet.

  1. Connect to the Master Node Using SSH.
  2. Set Up an SSH Tunnel to the Master Node Using Dynamic Port Forwarding.
  3. Configure Proxy Settings to View Websites Hosted on the Master Node. You can now View Web Interfaces Hosted on Amazon EMR Clusters.

Optionally, access the user interfaces by configuring SSH tunneling with local port forwarding. This method is recommended for more technical users. It does not require a SOCKS proxy. For more information, see Set Up an SSH Tunnel to the Master Node Using Local Port Forwarding.
