Gain experience in some of our newer AWS services through hands-on workshops. AWS Instructors and Solutions Architects will walk you through step-by-step instructions on how to build serverless architectures, develop mobile applications, and connect to AWS IoT.

All participants must bring their own laptop (no tablets; requires dual-core processor with 4GB of RAM) and have an AWS Account established and ready to use at the event.

Note: All workshops except for “Infrastructure as Code” require invitation. If you need one, please contact your AWS Business Development manager.

Level: Getting Started

Time: 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Date: Delhi (14 Nov), Pune (16 Nov),
Bangalore (17 Nov)

Scenario: You have a stream of healthcare data (heart rate) and you want to be alerted when it starts showing anomalies.

In this workshop you will learn how to use AWS Kinesis Analytics Service to implement Stream Analytics. You will first learn the basic concepts of Stream Analytics, then you will do a few hands-on exercises that cover the concepts. Finally, you will see how to use this service to implement complex scenarios of Anomaly Detection which has use cases in many IoT applications.

Level: Deep Dive

Time: 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM

Date: Delhi (14 Nov), Pune (16 Nov),
Bangalore (17 Nov)

Scenario: You are tasked with building a smart city lighting solution in which you can control street lights from a central location. The system takes into account schedules, events, ambient light, traffic movement etc. in making on-off decisions.

In this workshop you will explore various features of AWS IoT service such as Gateway, Rule Engine, Device Shadows. You will then build an IoT application that will make use of these features to build a solution that will power smart lighting solution for smart cities. Towards the end the instructor will discuss how to implement complex scenarios and practical considerations.

Zombies have taken over major metropolitan areas. The AWS Lambda Signal Corps has built a communications system to connect the remaining survivors.

In this workshop, we will introduce the basics of building serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon S3. You'll work within a team to build a secure, scalable, fault-tolerant chat service with global reach from scratch using blue-prints provided by us.

Level: Getting Started

Time: 4:00 PM - 5:45 PM

AWS infrastructure is provisioned using APIs. This allows developers to design infrastructure as if it were code. This further allows them to version control their infrastructure. AWS has a service named Cloudformation which makes this job particularly easy. Mastery of Cloudformation has allowed customers to save heavily on infrastructure setup while eliminating human errors.

In this workshop, the speaker will discuss with examples and demoes how to build & run sophisticated Cloudformation templates.

Note: This workshop is open to all. You need not bring your laptop for this workshop.

Deep learning continues to push the limits in domains such as computer vision, natural language understanding and recommendation engines. One of the key reasons for this is the availability of highly flexible and developer friendly deep learning frameworks. Here, members of the Amazon Machine Learning team will provide a short background on Deep Learning focusing on relevant application domains and an introduction to the powerful and scalable Deep Learning framework, MXNet. At the end of this tutorial you’ll be able to train your own deep neural network at scale to recognize handwritten digits and test it for accuracy.

Microservices have come to become one of the most popular architecture patterns. Containers have become a popular choice to deploy Microservices.
AWS provides Elastic Container Service (ECS) to manage containers across a cluster of hosts. This session starts with an introduction to ECS. It is then followed by two hands on labs to deploy containers using ECS. In the end, there will be a discussion on Auto scaling approaches, Service Discovery techniques.

Pre-requisites: General Introduction to containers technology and working knowledge of Linux is highly desirable.
