Francessca Vasquez, VP, Customer Experience and Technology, Amazon Web Services
Francessca is responsible for Technology Architecture, Enterprise Modernization & Migration, Innovation Engineering, and Workforce Diversity Equity & Inclusion across the Worldwide Commercial Organization. She and her team support global startups, digital native companies, Independent Software Vendors, Small Midsize Businesses, and Enterprises. Her team helps customers enable digital transformation, new customer experiences, and business innovation outcomes. Her organization focuses on prescriptive solution guidance across 200+ full featured AWS services and solutions such as business continuity, compute, storage, databases, cloud operations, artificial intelligence and machine learning, security, people transformation, and management governance. Francessca also serves as the Executive Sponsor for the AWS Global CIO Council.
Prior to AWS, Francessca spent 11 years with Oracle, most recently as the Group Vice President of the North America Cloud Infrastructure team. She’s held numerous leadership roles in consulting, business development, and business-technology architecture strategy with Salesforce, CSC (now DXC) Sun Microsystems, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
Her studies include a Master’s degree in Science and Technology Public Policy from George Mason University, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Lynchburg. She is a STEM advocate and active participant in non-profits that inspire cultural inclusion, equitable access, and diversity such as the First Tee, Year Up, the Information Senior Management Forum, Hispanic IT Executive Council, Code.org, and Rainier Scholars – a 12-year program offering a pathway to college for low-income students of color. Francessca is a Board of Trustee member at the University of Lynchburg.
