Health measures

The health and safety of our customers, partners and employees remains our top priority. At the AWS Summit New York 2022, the following health measures will be in place. All attendees are required to comply with the health measures. Signage and additional staffing will be in place to support health measures. Revisions will be made in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and federal, state, and local government requirements.

Vaccinations

All badge holders at AWS Summit New York must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to checking in at the event. Fully vaccinated is defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as 2 weeks after receiving recommended doses in their primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine. 

A record of COVID-19 vaccination must be provided at onsite check-in to receive your AWS Summit New York badge. Acceptable records include the attendee’s physical COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or digital COVID-19 Certificate, COVID-19 vaccine certificate, a photo of the attendee's COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or a digital verification of the attendee's COVID-19 record from a smartphone application. The name on the attendee’s vaccination record must match their government-issued ID.

Testing opt-out

Badge holders who are attending AWS Summit New York, who choose not to show a record of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, are able to attend if the attendee provides a record of a negative COVID-19 test. The name on the attendee’s test record must match their government-issued ID.

Acceptable negative test results are limited to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and antigen test results provided by a third-party laboratory no more than 24 hours for an antigen test and 72 hours for a PCR test prior to the start of the event. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.

Masks

Masks will not be required at the AWS Summit New York.

Masks and hand sanitizers

Amazon Web Services (AWS) will make masks available for attendees who need them. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event space.

Do I need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend in AWS Summit New York?

All badge holders at AWS Summit New York will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or show of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test to attend AWS Summit New York in person this year. 

What date do I need to be vaccinated by to participate in AWS Summit New York?

Fully vaccinated is defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as 2 weeks after receiving recommended doses in their primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine.

If you plan to check in on the first day of AWS Summit New York badge pickup, you need to receive your second dose in a 2-dose series or single-dose vaccine no later than June 28, 2022.

How do I verify my COVID-19 vaccination to attend AWS Summit New York?

Bring a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status to onsite check-in to receive your AWS Summit New York badge. Acceptable records include the attendee’s physical COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or digital COVID-19 Certificate, COVID-19 vaccine certificate, a photo of the attendee's COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or a digital verification of the attendee's COVID-19 record from a smartphone application. The name on your vaccination record must match your government-issued ID.

Will I also need to provide proof of a COVID-19 booster shot to attend the Summit?

No. Fully vaccinated is defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as 2 weeks after a second dose in a 2-dose series such as the Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca vaccines or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

Will you accept a record of a COVID-19 vaccine that is authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where I got my vaccine but is not U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved or authorized under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA)?

Yes. We will accept a record of COVID-19 vaccinations authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where they were administered. Unless otherwise defined by your national health authority, we will consider you fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving recommended doses in their primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Acceptable records include the attendee’s physical COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or digital COVID-19 Certificate, COVID-19 vaccine certificate, a photo of the attendee's COVID-19 vaccination/immunization card or a digital verification of the attendee's COVID-19 record from a smartphone application. The name on the attendee’s vaccination record must match their government issued ID.

Will you accept record of a mixed (heterologous) regime of COVID-19 vaccinations if authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where I got my vaccine?

Yes. If receiving two doses of different COVID-19 vaccine products is authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where they were administered, we will still consider you fully vaccinated against COVID-19 2 weeks after your second dose in the 2-dose series.

Can I attend AWS Summit New York with a record of a negative COVID-19 test instead of providing a record of vaccination against COVID-19?

Yes. Badge holders who are attending AWS Summit New York who choose not to show a record of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are able to attend if the attendee provides a record of a negative COVID-19 test. The name on the attendee’s test record must match their government-issued ID. Acceptable negative test results are limited to third-party laboratory-provided antigen and PCR results conducted no more than 24 hours for an antigen test and 72 hours for a PCR test prior to the start of the event. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.

What date do I need to be tested for COVID-19 to participate in AWS Summit New York?

Are masks required at AWS Summit New York?

No. Masks are not required.

Will food and beverages still be offered?

Yes. Conference meals will be offered. We will follow all local and venue guidelines for service.

Will I be required to maintain a 6-foot (2-meter) distance from other attendees at AWS Summit New York?*

No. You will not be required to maintain 6-foot (2 meter) distancing during the event.

What happens if I (or someone else) test positive for COVID-19 during or following AWS Summit New York?*

If you test positive for COVID-19, please follow guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for testing, isolation, masking, distancing, and seeking medical guidance.

Please follow case reporting guidance from the relevant public health department. More information can be found on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). If a positive COVID-19 diagnosis is disclosed to AWS during AWS Summit New York, we will suspend your in-person participation at the event and issue a full refund if applicable.
