Introductory
Sessions are focused on providing an overview of AWS services and features, with the assumption that attendees are new to the topic.
Level 200
Intermediate
Sessions are focused on providing best practices, details of service features and demos with the assumption that attendees have introductory knowledge of the topics.
Level 300
Advanced
Sessions dive deeper into the selected topic. Presenters assume that the audience has some familiarity with the topic, but may or may not have direct experience implementing a similar solution.
Level 400
Expert
Sessions are for attendees who are deeply familiar with the topic, have implemented a solution on their own already, and are comfortable with how the technology works across multiple services, architectures, and implementations.

Dorothy Li, Vice President, AWS BI and Analytics

Dorothy has over twenty years of experience making both work and consumer products simple and delightful to use.  She studied computer science in college, and started her career working on databases and database applications at Oracle.  She joined Amazon in 1998 where she helped build out Amazon’s ecommerce platform.  Throughout her long and diverse career at Amazon, Dorothy led and collaborated on products that had visibly impacted customers around the world – from the initial launch of Amazon Prime, to Kindle, and now AWS, focusing on data analytics and BI.    

Peter DeSantis, Senior Vice President, AWS Global Infrastructure and Customer Support

Peter DeSantis is the Senior Vice President of AWS Global Infrastructure and Customer Support. In this role, he leads the AWS teams responsible for designing the datacenters, servers and network that underpin our AWS services and deploying and operating this infrastructure worldwide as well as the customer facing organizations providing support for our AWS products.

Peter joined Amazon in 1998. Prior to joining Amazon Web Services, Peter worked in various other groups within Amazon including leading the distributed systems engineering group. In March 2006, Peter joined Amazon Web Services as the General Manager of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Peter led the EC2 team through the 2006 initial launch of the service and went on to lead a number of AWS products focused on compute and networking until he accepted the role of Vice President, AWS Global Infrastructure in October 2016. In January of 2018, Peter expanded his role to include AWS Customer Support. In February 2020 Peter accepted the title of Senior Vice President.

Peter earned a bachelor of arts with a dual major in Economics and Computer Science from Dartmouth College.

Marcello Damiani, Chief Digital & Operational Excellence Officer, Moderna

As Chief Digital and Operational Excellence Officer, Marcello Damiani brings a wealth of experience from both Tech companies and Life Science companies. Prior to Moderna, Marcello was instrumental in conceiving and building creative IT solutions to help solve business challenges, first at Motorola and then at bioMérieux. His expertise is in visioning, strategizing and implementing innovative programs to update and streamline the digital landscapes. Marcello holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems Architecture from the University of Toulouse in France, and an international Executive MBA through TRIUM, an alliance composed of the London School of Economics, New York University’s Stern Business School, and the HEC School of Management in Paris.

Guruprasad C (Guru) Vasudeva, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Infrastructure & Operations, Nationwide

Guru Vasudeva is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Infrastructure & Operations at Nationwide . In this role, he manages Cloud Computing, On-Prem Hosting, Digital Workplace Solutions, Networking and Cyber Security Solutions services for the enterprise. Guru is charged not only with providing infrastructure and operation support for 2,000+ applications, but also transforming these services to using Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Infrastructure as Code and Agile Infrastructure practices. Guru's deep experience in Agile, Lean IT and Software Engineering at scale positions him uniquely to transform the infrastructure function.

Jeff Shah, Vice President of Customer Care, The New York Times Company

Jeff Shah is Vice President of Customer Care at The New York Times Company. Jeff has worked in the customer support field for 20 years, including as VP of Member Operations at Etsy, where he was responsible for the strategic direction and operational success of all customer support and policy enforcement functions, serving millions of Etsy buyers and sellers. He holds a BS in Management and Spanish from Penn State University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
