Learning
Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at the AWS Summit. This free event is designed to educate you about the AWS platform and help you develop the skills to design, deploy, and operate infrastructure and applications. Take advantage of the many opportunities to learn about AWS services and solutions in multiple formats, including breakout sessions, workshops, demos, and chalk talks. All sessions will be delivered by subject matter experts from AWS, our Partners, or our customers who will share case studies and lessons learned.
Training and Certification
Bootcamps are full and half-day training sessions delivered by experienced AWS Instructors and Solutions Architects. They are an opportunity to dive deep into existing skills and learn new ways of working with AWS. These sessions are offered for a nominal fee on March 28, the day after the Summit.
Hands-On Labs
Hands-on Labs help you evaluate and learn how to work with AWS solutions through step-by-step, self-paced instructions on an AWS Console in a live practice environment. Choose from 100+ lab topics that range in level from introductory to expert and take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete. Registration is not required; walk-ups are welcome.
Predict the Future with Time Series Forecasting & Deep Neural Networks – Full Day
Forecasting is an entry point to applying machine learning across many industries. Whether it’s optimizing the supply chain through better product demand forecasts, allocating computing resources more effectively by predicting web server traffic, or saving lives by staffing hospitals to meet patient needs, there are few domains where accurate forecasts don’t return their investments quickly.
This bootcamp is designed to provide you with the conceptual understanding and tools you need to apply forecasting in your own work.
This course is intended for:
- Developers and engineers
- Data scientists
- Machine learning practitioners
IoT in Scale: How to Monitor and Manage an IoT Solution Using AWS Services – Half Day
In this advanced-level course, you learn how to overcome the challenges of managing large fleets of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including provisioning, setting configurations and updates, and protecting fleets from threats. You also learn how to apply best practices that leverage AWS IoT services to successfully manage and monitor large fleets.
You have the opportunity to dive deep into each of the services to build an IoT solution through guided, hands-on labs. Practical exercises include working with AWS IoT Core for device provisioning, AWS IoT Device Management for fleet handling and OTA updates, and AWS IoT Device Defender to extend device security and audit.
This course is intended for:
- Solutions architects
- Developers
- Fleet managers and device engineers working with IoT solutions
- Security architects and operations responsible for managing and protecting IoT devices
- Individuals who are interested in designing, managing, and monitoring IoT solutions at scale using Amazon services
Cloud Practitioner Essentials – Full Day
The introductory-level course is intended for individuals who seek an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. It includes lab exercises reinforcing some of the core concepts of the lecture.
This course is intended for:
- Sales
- Legal
- Marketing
- Business analysts
- Project managers
- Chief Executive Officers
- AWS Academy students
- Other IT-related professionals
Solutions Architect - Associate - Half Day
The AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam validates technical expertise in designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS. Join this half-day, intermediate-level course to learn how to prepare for the exam by exploring the exam’s topic areas and how they map to architecting on AWS and to specific areas to study. The course reviews sample exam questions in each topic area and teaches you how to interpret the concepts being tested so that you can more easily eliminate incorrect responses.
You may cancel your bootcamp reservation by sending written notice to AWS by email to AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com. If AWS receives your cancellation notice before 12 noon (PT) on March 14, 2019, AWS will issue you a full refund of your bootcamp fees via the original payment method. If AWS receives your cancellation notice after 12 noon (PT) on March 14, 2019, AWS will issue you refund of your bootcamp fees less a $50 cancellation fee via the original payment method.
Breakout Content
Sessions
Attend one-hour breakout sessions led by AWS subject-matter experts and/or top AWS customers. You’ll find introductory sessions, deep dive technical content, and customer stories.
Workshops
Learn in a team-oriented, hands-on environment. Solve problems and build solutions in these two hour-long workshops. They are capped at about 60 attendees to maximize networking and learning opportunities.
Chalk Talks
Chalk Talks are short presentations designed to stimulate conversation, followed by an interactive whiteboarding session. The goal is to foster a technical discussion around real world architecture challenges. It’s a great opportunity to ask an AWS Expert your questions.
AWS Community Dev Lounge
Join us in the Dev Lounge for content “by the community, for the community.” Learn from and network with your peers, AWS Heroes, AWS User Groups, and other members of the AWS community. All content in the Dev lounge is community-led and the Ask the Experts Bar will be staffed by our user group leaders. This is an opportunity to dive deep with others using AWS just like you.
Activities
At the AWS Summit Santa Clara you will get to know the AWS team and interact with AWS Partners - it's also a perfect opportunity to chat with peers and other tech enthusiasts about their challenges and learnings.
