AWS Database Migration Service is Now Generally Available
AWS Database Migration Service is now available to all customers. Using AWS Database Migration Service allows you to migrate databases to AWS easily, securely, and cost-effectively, with no downtime. There is no need to install any drivers or applications; you can begin a database migration with just a few clicks in the AWS Management Console. Because you only pay for the compute resources used during the migration process, a terabyte-sized database can be migrated for as little as $3.
AWS Database Migration Service can be used for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, MySQL, or MariaDB migrations. The service supports homogeneous migrations such as Oracle to Oracle, as well as heterogeneous migrations between different database platforms, such as Oracle to Amazon Aurora or SQL Server to MySQL. AWS Database Migration Service can migrate on-premises databases to Amazon RDS or Amazon EC2, databases running on EC2 to RDS, or vice versa, as well as migrate an RDS database to another RDS database.
The AWS Database Migration Service is now available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), US West (N. California), EU (Ireland), EU (Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Tokyo) and Asia Pacific (Sydney) AWS Regions.
