Drew Firment

Drew Firment is a managing partner at A Cloud Guru working with organizations that seek to accelerate cloud adoption through education. He has over twenty years of experience leading complex technology programs, enterprise platforms, and cultural transformations in a fast-paced agile environment.

As a technology director at Capital One, Drew worked across the flow of a large-scale enterprise adoption of AWS migrating early adopters into production. He recognized that cloud education was the greatest barrier to sustaining the transition at scale.

To enable a scalable and sustainable transition to AWS, Drew founded a cloud engineering college to accelerate an enterprise-wide talent transformation. As the Dean of Cloud Computing, he was awarded a patent for measuring cloud adoption and pioneered the intersection of strategy, governance, engineering, agile, and cloud education. Today, a full 2 percent of all AWS certified developers in the US work at Capital One.

Drew has earned all three of the AWS associate-level certifications, and is also recognized by Amazon as an Alexa Champion. He is recognized for his to efforts to build learning communities, his passion to improve diversity and inclusion in the technology industry, and as the editor of A Cloud Guru's community-sourced publication on cloud computing.
