Postgres Plus Advanced Server from EnterpriseDB, is built upon PostgreSQL the world's most advanced open source fully relational database available today. Advanced Server includes Infinite Cache, DynaTune, Query Optimization Hints, User Defined Object Types, GridSQL, Dynamic Runtime Instrumentation, and many more features not found in the community version of PostgreSQL. Advanced Server also provides extensive Oracle compatibility allowing new Oracle compatible applications and reporting platforms to be deployed at a fraction of their current cost. This AMI includes a pre-configured standard installation of Advanced Server and does not require any registration.

Postgres Plus Advanced Server from EnterpriseDB is built upon PostgreSQL and offers performance, scalability and compatibility features like Infinite Cache and deep Oracle compatibility that is not available in the community version of PostgreSQL. The Advanced Server instance is pre-installed with the following modules:
• The Postgres Plus Advanced Server Database Server
• Migration Studio
• PostGIS Geospatial support
• PgBouncer Connection Pooling
• GridSQL
• pgJDBC Client Connector
• psqlODBC Client Connector
• Npgsql (.NET) Client Connector
• Replication Server and Console
• pgmemcache
• pgAgent Job Scheduler
• Update Notification Service

This 64 bit instance requires use of the Large Instance type which includes 7.5 GB of memory, 4 EC2 Compute Units (2 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each) and 850 GB of local instance storage.
